Volunteer opportunity conditions :
Location : Partially virtual.
Minimum age : 18 years or older.
Minimum volunteer hours /period : 1 year commitment, 3-6 hours per month. During Response: up to 35 hours a week if deployed.
Specific requirements : Personal protective equipment will be supplied, as required. This position requires a valid Drivers License and a satisfactory Drivers Abstract.
Access to internet & computer; access to phone.
Ability to respond during non-traditional hours and long hours of work in a demanding context.
Ability to be on-call when scheduled, as required.
Ability to respond in local community (3 days minimum) and outside of their community (10 days minimum).

The Supply Chain and Logistics Team (SCL) is looking for volunteers. The SCL Responder may provide services locally or at a field operations team level and will coordinate material supplies, goods and vehicles, through established procurement, tracking, warehousing, distribution and transportation processes during a response.
Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and or a minimum of one year of work-related experience in logistics, procurement and/or supply chain management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Knowledge of procurement, transportation, warehousing or distribution an asset.
Understanding of Red Cross role in disaster response, relief and recovery, an asset.
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills.
Ability to work well within a team - share information, be helpful, respectful, approachable and build strong relationships.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to lift and carry goods weighing up to 50lbs or assist in carrying goods weighing up to 80lbs.
Certification in standard or emergency first aid, or willingness to complete.
Responsibility 1: Resource Management
Assess resource requirements as assigned, ensuring the appropriate SCL processes are followed.
Follow procurement standard procedures as required and in accordance to the CRC Procurement Policy and the Procedures Manual and the Society Contract and Signing Authority (CASA) levels.
Assist with the demobilization and repatriation of supplies and equipment.
Responsibility 2: Inventory Control
Ensure adequate stock when opening site, maintain appropriate level of stock during response and complete a close of operation inventory/reconciliation.
Observe routine precautions in the handling of goods, materials and equipment including use of required personal protective equipment and hand hygiene.
Responsibility 3: Transport Support
Monitors safety considerations for vehicles, inspections, record maintenance.
Participates in the shipping of goods and transfers between sites locations, including driving people and inventory to and from sites.
Responsibility 4: Planning and Preparedness
Participate in Supply Chain and Logistics team member orientation & training.
Assist in sourcing suppliers, creating new agreements for goods and services needed for operations and updating the contact information in the suppliers tracking sheet.
1 year commitment, 3-6 hours per month. During Response: up to 35 hours a week if deployed.
