Training

Build knowledge, strengthen skills, and support effective volunteer leadership.

VBY offers training opportunities designed to support nonprofit board members, staff, and volunteers in building strong, well run organizations. Training focuses on practical skills, governance, and operational capacity relevant to the Yukon nonprofit and volunteer sector.

Workshops

When available, VBY offers workshops that explore topics supporting the effective operation of nonprofit boards and organizations. Sessions focus on practical areas such as board governance and roles and responsibilities, effective meetings, policy development, risk management, financial management, and other topics based on sector needs.

Upcoming workshops and training opportunities are listed on the VBY events page. To stay informed about new sessions, updates, and announcements, we encourage you to subscribe to the VBY newsletter.

CVA Study Group

VBY hosts CVA Study Groups for individuals preparing for the Certified in Volunteer Administration credential. The study group focuses on reviewing the CVA Body of Knowledge, discussing key concepts, and supporting preparation through peer learning and shared reflection.

The CVA Study Group is open to everyone. VBY members are eligible for discounted registration when study groups are offered. Details about upcoming study groups, including timing and registration, are shared through VBY training listings and announcements.

Custom Training

Through the NGO Training Fund, Yukon nonprofit organizations can access funding to develop custom training that supports organizational capacity and long term sustainability. This funding allows organizations to address specific learning needs for their boards, staff, or volunteer leaders.
