The Thomson Centre is seeking mature, caring individuals to provide one-on-one friendly visits to older adults living in our care facility. Your visits will offer residents the chance to socialize, share stories, and enjoy activities beyond our regular recreational programs.
Good interpersonal and active listening skills
Patience, empathy, and reliability
Comfort working with individuals with cognitive or physical limitations (training provided)
The ability to work independently and accept supervision
Provide regularly scheduled visits with a designated resident
Offer companionship and conversation
Maintain confidentiality at all times
1–2 hours weekly or bi-weekly, for at least 6 months
Experience the joy of meaningful connection
Take part in volunteer appreciation activities
