The Canadian Mental Health Association – Yukon Division (CMHA-YT) is seeking engaged and committed individuals to serve on its Board of Directors.
About Us
CMHA-YT is a non-profit, charitable organization whose vision is a society that embraces and invests in the mental health of all people of the Yukon. Our mission is to promote positive mental health for all Yukoners through education, advocacy, community-based services, and the elimination of stigma. We strive to exemplify best practices in nonprofit governance while centering values of inclusion, compassion, collaboration, proactivity, and steadfast commitment.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking individuals who bring diverse lived, professional, and community experiences and are passionate about contributing to a results-based, values-driven governance team. Whether you have skills in finance, law, nonprofit leadership, health care, human resources, advocacy, Indigenous governance, communications, lived experience of mental health challenges, or community organizing—your voice matters at our table.
We welcome applications from people of all identities, backgrounds, and experiences, especially those who identify as:

– Francophone
– People with lived experience of mental health or substance use challenges
Board Member Commitments
As a Director, you will:
– Attend monthly board meetings (virtual or hybrid)
– Serve a 2-year term, renewable
– Support CMHA-YT in strategic planning, financial oversight, and risk management
– Serve as an ambassador for mental health in the community
No prior board experience? No problem! We offer a thorough orientation program, opportunities for ongoing training, and a collaborative governance culture rooted in consensus, transparency, and mutual respect.
