The Chair, Regional Engagement provides national leadership for VMPC’s Regional Engagement strategy, supporting the growth of strong, sustainable regional connections across Canada. This role is responsible for establishing and supporting regional committees, project teams, and events that advance VMPC’s mission through advocacy, professional development, partnership, and membership growth.
Working closely with regional volunteer leaders, affiliate partners, and the VMPC Board, the Chair ensures Regional Engagement initiatives balance local flexibility with national priorities, strengthening the volunteer engagement profession nationwide.
● Lead and oversee VMPC’s Regional Engagement framework, supporting regional committees, projects, and events
● Establish, support, and sustain regional volunteer leadership, including recruitment, orientation, and succession
● Align regional initiatives with VMPC’s strategic priorities, including membership growth, advocacy, and partnership development
● Support planning and delivery of regional communications, events, and professional development activities
● Serve as liaison between regional leaders, affiliate partners, and the VMPC Board, including budget oversight and funding requests
● Attend Board and strategic meetings and provide regular reporting, documentation, and transition planning
● Active VMPC member in good standing
● Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
● Experience leading committees, volunteers, or collaborative initiatives
● Ability to balance national strategy with regional flexibility and local needs
● Self-motivated, organized, and accountable, with strong time management skills
● Comfortable working in a remote, collaborative environment
● Previous VMPC regional or volunteer experience is an asset
● CVA Certified or working towards Certification is preferred
● Being bilingual (English/ French) is an asset
Approximately 10-12 hours monthly, plus additional time for in-person meetings once a year.
