The 2026 Arctic Winter Games (AWG)
The 2026 Arctic Winter Games (AWG) is coming to Whitehorse, Yukon and we want you to be part of it!
The Arctic Winter Games (AWG) are a bi-annual world class sporting and cultural event, with 2,000 participants and an equal number of volunteers from around the circumpolar north. Designed to celebrate the unique sports and cultural heritage of the Arctic, this multisport event showcases 20+ traditional and non-traditional sport competitions as well as a weeklong cultural exchange program. The Whitehorse 2026 Arctic Winter Games Host Society was formed to plan and deliver the 2026 Arctic Winter Games, and we come to you today as our first reach out to form our team!
Volunteers are the heartbeat of the Games and necessary in not only the delivery of the games but in the required planning leading up to the event. The AWG 2026 Host Society will be recruiting volunteers in three phases: phase 1, lead planning volunteers; phase 2, planning committee members; and phase 3, Games time volunteers.
As we are currently in phase 1, we are looking for individuals interested in lead planning volunteer positions in various operational areas like Community Engagement, Marketing & Communications, and to participant support and services. If you are interested in being involved, we ask that you complete the following survey.
