Fostering volunteerism and civic engagement in Yukon.

Inclusion Yukon

Board Member

Role Overview

Board members of Inclusion Yukon provide governance and oversight for our organization. Inclusion Yukon advocates and supports individuals with an intellectual disability to be part of life’s diversity, and a component of community to be included rather than hidden away.

Inclusion Yukon provides employment/job coaching supports in Whitehorse; inclusive social events and is a hub of information for individuals; families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

Board members provide governance to management staff; approve budgets and projects as well as providing feedback to management and staff on priorities for the organization.

Experience and Qualifications

Experience and a passion for the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities would be helpful. Striving for inclusion in all aspects of life is our mission – whether it be in employment, housing, a living wage, education or other human rights.

Estimated Time Commitment

Inclusion Yukon board meetings take place every six weeks at our offices at 4230 4th Avenue in Whitehorse. We meet late in the afternoon on Fridays for approximately 1 hour, sometimes 1 1/2 hours. Our meeting space is completely accessible.
