What brought you to Volunteer Bénévoles Yukon?
I’ve always been passionate about building stronger communities, and volunteering is at the heart of that. When I saw the opportunity to lead VBY, I was excited to bring my experience in program development and community engagement to an organization that plays such a critical role in connecting people across the territory.

What’s your vision for Volunteer Bénévoles Yukon?
My vision is to make volunteering accessible and impactful for everyone. This includes helping newcomers integrate into the community, supporting local non-profits, or encouraging leadership development, I want VBY to be a hub where people feel inspired to give back and build connections that last.

What’s been the most rewarding part of your role?
The most rewarding part is seeing the direct impact of our work – whether it’s matching someone with a volunteer opportunity that sparks their passion or hearing from a community organization that’s achieved new milestones because of the support they received. Watching people grow through volunteering is truly inspiring.

What’s something people might not know about you?
I have a knack for balancing the strategic with the creative. Outside of work, I enjoy diving into creative projects, exploring innovative ideas for community programs or working on personal hobbies like travelling and staying active through sports.

What advice do you have for someone looking to start volunteering?
Start with something that excites you – exploring a new skill, meeting new people, or supporting a cause you care deeply about. Volunteering isn’t just about giving back; it’s about growing as a person and building relationships that benefit everyone involved.
