Score applications using a standardized rubric across six criteria
Participate in committee meetings to discuss assessments and reach funding recommendations
Declare and manage conflicts of interest in accordance with the committee’s Terms of Reference
Maintain confidentiality of applicant information and committee deliberations

Experience and Skills

Familiarity with the Yukon nonprofit sector is an asset
Experience in organizational governance, financial management, program evaluation, or community development is helpful
Ability to review applications objectively and apply consistent judgment
Comfort working with written materials and participating in group discussion
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not required

Estimated Time Commitment

Approximately 8 to 10 hours per intake cycle, spread across two cycles per year (spring and fall). This includes independent application review and one committee meeting per cycle. Total annual commitment is roughly 16 to 20 hours.

Volunteer Recognition or Benefits

Committee members gain direct insight into the nonprofit sector’s capacity-building needs and contribute meaningfully to how training funds are allocated territory-wide. VBY recognizes the contributions of committee members and provides orientation and support materials to help members fulfill their role effectively.
