Yukon Learn is seeking a volunteer Financial Literacy Tutor to help adult learners build confidence and understanding in basic money management. This short-term opportunity is perfect for someone who enjoys teaching, communicating clearly, and supporting others in their learning journey.
As a volunteer you will:
• Guide learners through the provided financial literacy materials
• Explain key financial concepts in a clear and accessible way
• Foster a supportive, positive, and encouraging learning environment
• Be comfortable using Zoom
• Ability to explain basic financial concepts in simple, practical terms
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a learner-focused approach
As a volunteer you will:
• Guide learners through the provided financial literacy materials over Zoom
• Explain key financial concepts in a clear and accessible way
• Foster a supportive, positive, and encouraging learning environment
• Participate in our volunteer screening process and provide a valid vulnerable sector check from the RCMP
• Teach a 1-hour session each week for four weeks over Zoom
• Sessions must take place on a weekday at Yukon Learn between 9am and 5pm
• All necessary equipment and course materials provided
• Free tea and coffee available at Yukon Learn
• Business owners may be eligible to receive a charitable donation receipt for their time
• Regular tutor training sessions and ongoing support
• A free Yukon Learn membership, giving you access to our other courses and programs
