The Volunteer Retail Associate will oversee daily retail operations and inventory management at the Yukon Quest store located in the Whitepass building. With merchandise sales being one of the main sources of income for the Yukon Quest, this position is vital to the success of the race. In addition to being the point of contact for store operations, the Volunteer Retail Associate will interact with visitors to the offices and act as a welcoming source of information for people interested in the race.
Conduct cash sales of Yukon Quest merchandise
Arrange online sales and package them for shipping
Manage inventory counts and ensure accuracy of inventory levels
Organize and arrange merchandise shelves and displays
Provide information to visitors about the Yukon Quest
Retail experience would be preferred, but is not necessary. Inventory management experience would be considered a plus.
This is a volunteer position with flexible scheduling options. Time commitments will range between 4 to 8 hours per week depending on availability, and these positions are expected to run through to the races in February 2027. Multiple applicants will be accepted to help fill all of the timeslots.
Volunteers receive 10% off store merchandise, special recognition in the 2026 Yukon Quest Race Annual, and the satisfaction of being part of helping the Yukon Quest return.
