Play a direct role in shaping the future of Yukon students by volunteering as a scholarship application evaluator. In this online role, you’ll review and assess scholarship applications using a structured scoring guide, helping ensure funding is awarded fairly and thoughtfully to deserving students and organizations.
After a short virtual training session, you’ll independently evaluate assigned applications and submit your recommendations by the deadline.
All volunteers are required to maintain confidentiality and follow conflict of interest guidelines to ensure a fair and unbiased review process.

– Attend a 1-hour virtual training session to learn how to navigate the online application portal.
– Review and score scholarship applications using a provided rubric.
– Apply fair, objective, and unbiased judgment to each application to ensure equitable scoring across all candidates.
– Submit your recommendations via an online form provided by the deadline.
– All evaluators must sign a Confidentiality Agreement and Conflict of Interest Policy.
– Volunteers cannot evaluate applications submitted by themselves or individuals they know personally.
We’re seeking individuals from a variety of industries and backgrounds to assist in evaluating scholarship applications. Ideal volunteers are detail-oriented, possess strong reading comprehension skills, and are comfortable using computers and navigating online systems.
The total time commitment typically ranges from 1 to 12+ hours, depending on your availability and the number of applications assigned.
Evaluations begin: First week of June
Deadline to submit recommendations: June 14
Application assignments will be based on overall volume and your indicated availability.
